ABOUT US
The SEDA GHAZARIAN Mental Health Foundation (SGMHF) is a leading, non-profit organisation in Armenia established in 2009 by UK- based Katsouris family. It is committed to enhancing the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges, supporting their families and caregivers, and driving systemic improvement in mental health policies and practices.

A society where every individual affected by mental health issues can live a fulfilling, independent life, free from stigma and isolation, with access to compassionate and effective care.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is multifaceted and driven by a set of objectives:
- To Empower individuals to overcome their challenges and lead independent, self-directed lives.
- To Support families and caregivers with professional guidance, resources, and knowledge.
- To Educate the public to increase understanding, break down misconceptions, and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
- To Advocate the adoption of modern, evidence-based approaches and policies within Armenia’s mental health sector.

Our Work
We aim to achieve our mission through targeted initiatives in two key areas:
1. Advancing Mental Health Systems and Increasing Professional Capacity
We work to strengthen the very foundation of mental health care in Armenia by focusing on systemic improvement and professional development.
Accessible Services:
Advocating for and contributing to the expansion of available and accessible mental health services across the country.
Policy Advocacy:
Developing actionable recommendations and targeted programmes to influence and improve national mental health policy.
Professional Development:
Enhancing the skills of mental health professionals through specialised training, ongoing supervision, and mentorship programmes.
Knowledge Sharing:
Facilitating workshops and discussions to share international best practices and foster a community of learning.
2. Public Awareness & stigma Reduction
We believe that education is the most powerful tool to combat stigma and foster a more inclusive society.
Public Campaigns:
Running strategic communication campaigns to challenge stereotypes and promote mental well-being.
Educational Resources:
Developing and disseminating clear, reliable information in both print and digital formats for the general public and specific groups.
Community Engagement:
Hosting forums and discussions with stakeholders, interest groups, and the broader community to foster dialogue and understanding.
